Legislative Update
The Primary election cycle is over and the stage is set for the General election.
Byron Donalds(R) will face David Jolly(D) in the General election for Governor. Byron Donalds, has to date, significantly out raised David Jolly by conservatively six to one. Byron is not resting on his bank account but has continued to stay hard at work on the campaign trail.
Senator Ashley Moody( R) will face former House member Angie Nixon. Angie Nixon was unanticipated to win. This came as a surprise win. She was running as a Democratic Socialist. This has caused a lot of tension in the Democratic party. They have decided to support her.
The Cabinet officers are up for re-election as well as the House and Senate members.
For those who were following Robyn Hattaway’s race for the open seat vacated by Rep Tyler Sirois. Unfortunately Robyn did not win the four way Primary. It was a hard fought race.
I have been crisscrossing the state meeting new candidates as well as long time friends during the campaign cycle.
