Legislative Update

The Legislature will be meeting the first week of November for special session and also holding committee meetings. They will have a second set of committee meetings the following week.

The Capitol is on high alert with enhanced security measures following the arrest of a man impersonating a construction worker at the state Capitol complex.

The bills for the special session have been released and the call includes hurricane relief, insurance, student funding, support for Israel, sanctions against terrorist regimes, and security infrastructure to guard against antisemitic violence. 

Simultaneously, legislation is being introduced and hearings on the budget are being held.

With session starting in January things are moving quickly.
